Crabe porcelaine – Spotted porcelain crab – ( Neopetrolisthes maculatus ) – Crustacés Malacostracés – ( Crabes , crevettes )
Le crabe-porcelaine n’est pas un vrai crabe, malgré les apparences. Le corps aplati atteint 3 cm en moyenne (sans les pattes). Les plus gros individus atteignent 7 cm de diamètre. Il possède d’énormes pinces plates (chélipèdes*).
Le corps est blanc à beige rosé, ponctué de taches et de spots de couleur brun rouge à fauve. Leur couleur varie selon la zone géographique. Vit dans une anémone
The porcelain crab is not a true crab, despite appearances. The flattened body is 3 cm on average (without legs). The largest individuals reach 7 cm in diameter. It has huge flat nose pliers (chelipeds *).
The body is white to pinkish beige, punctuated spots and spots of reddish brown to tan. Their color varies according to geographical area. Lives in an anemone

Le mâle Canthigaster valentini peut avoir un harem de 7 femelles au maximum.
La peau, les organes internes dont le foie, les intestins et les gonades, contiennent une toxine mortelle : la tétrodotoxine.
Male Canthigaster valentini can have a harem of females 7 maximum.
